Inspection of work equipment
In addition to a maintenance obligation, some work equipment also has an additional inspection obligation. This is the case for the following two situations:
- If safety depends on the method of installation (inspection after installation)
- If external use or influences lead to wear, aging or deterioration (periodic inspection)
The employer must determine himself whether one or both inspection obligations apply to his work equipment.
Periodic check-up
The inspection (art. 7.4a, third paragraph) for timely detection of wear, aging or deterioration must take place periodically. With such a recurring inspection and the possible test, it can also be checked whether sufficient maintenance is being carried out, so that dangerous situations can be prevented.
